The three friction sets inside are cut to the published thickness and outside-diameter specs for this unit, so the stack heights land where the engineering calls for them, not close enough.

The B3 3-5-reverse brake set carries seven frictions at .07440 inch thick and 6.982 inch OD. The C2 2-clutch set, which handles the 4-5-6 drive apply, also runs seven discs. The B2 1st-reverse brake set rounds out the count with five frictions at .06240 inch thick and 7.242 inch OD. That adds up to 19 friction discs total.
