When the 3-4 clutch in a 4L60E, 4L65E, or 4L70E is slipping or burning through friction material, getting the friction and steel thicknesses right from the start is what keeps the repair from coming back. This set pairs eight red high-performance frictions at .062 inch with eight Kolene-treated steels at .060 inch, both spec'd for the 3-4 clutch pack in these units, so the stack fits correctly without improvising with extra shims or mismatched parts from different sources.

The Kolene process hardens the steel surface against glazing and micro-welding, which is one of the reasons this clutch pack fails repeatedly in high-mileage automatic transmission units. The red friction material is the hi-performance variant for this application, designed to handle the heat and cycle count that the 3-4 clutch sees in everyday driving. Sixteen pieces arrive in a single box, counted and verified against the part list before the box is sealed, as has been the practice at REMCO since 1991.

This set does not include bands, Automatic Transmission Filter, bushings, or any other sealing components. It addresses only the 3-4 friction and steel pack.
