When a TH700 or 4L60 automatic transmission shows slipping across multiple clutch packs, replacing only one set of frictions rarely solves the problem for long, and this Friction Kit addresses all five clutch packs in a single order. What sets this kit apart is the specificity of its contents: each of the 22 friction discs corresponds to a defined clutch pack, with the correct thickness already selected, so the rebuilder is not guessing at interchange.

The kit is built here at REMCO, assembled piece by piece rather than arriving prepackaged from a supplier. Every unit ships with its own parts list inside the box, and the count is verified against that list before it leaves. REMCO has been working in automatic transmission parts since 1991, and that process has not changed.

The five clutch sets break down as follows: six 3-4 clutch frictions at .080 inch for the 82-UP range, five low reverse clutch frictions at .087 inch also 82-UP, five forward clutch frictions at .070 inch for 85-UP applications, four reverse input clutch frictions at .070 inch for 1987-UP builds, and two overrun clutch frictions at .078 inch covering 82-UP. Total piece count is 22 and the assembled kit weighs approximately 2 lb.

This is strictly a Friction Kit. Steel plates, seals, Automatic Transmission Filter, band, pump bushing, and hard parts are not included. If your job requires those components, they need to be sourced separately. Check the clutch pack depths and the production date stamps on the case before placing the order to confirm all five sets are appropriate for the specific unit on the bench.
