When friction plates in the JF506E wear past spec, no adjustment corrects the slippage: the plates have to come out and fresh material has to go in. This Friction Kit from REMCO puts all six clutch pack friction sets in one box, sized and counted for the JF506E and JF506 (09A) built from 1998 forward, so the technician does not have to source each plate separately and risk mixing up specs.
The kit contains 28 friction plates divided across six distinct clutch packs. The low clutch pack gets 7 plates at .070 thickness, 30 teeth, 5-7/16 inch OD. The low reverse clutch also gets 7 plates, but these run .071 thick, 32 teeth, and 6.500 inch OD - a different plate entirely, easy to confuse when ordering loose parts. High clutch is covered by 5 plates at .063 thick, 24 teeth, 4.400 OD. Direct clutch takes 4 plates at .069 thick, 24 teeth, 4 inch OD. The 2-4 brake clutch uses 3 plates at .063 thick, 32 teeth, 7-1/2 OD. Reverse clutch closes out the kit with 2 plates at .063 thick, 32 teeth, 6-1/8 OD.
This is a Friction Kit: it does not include steel separator plates, seals, gaskets, Automatic Transmission Filter, band, or any other component. If your rebuild also needs those parts, they are sold separately. Confirm you need frictions only before placing the order.
