When accumulator pistons wear or crack, shift feel suffers immediately: the 1-2, 3-4 and forward accumulator circuits lose the hydraulic cushion they need, and the automatic transmission starts shifting harsh, soft or inconsistently. This kit addresses exactly those three positions, nothing more, nothing less, which makes it the right choice when the overhaul inspection points to the accumulators as the source of the problem rather than the friction pack or other components. The box contains three piston assemblies selected for 4L60E, 4L65E and 4L70E units built from 1982 forward. The third is the forward accumulator piston kit in a pinless configuration, also with seals and ball. Total part count is three pieces, total assembled weight is 0.5 lb. This is an Overhaul Kit, which means it covers sealing and piston components only. It does not include friction discs, steel plates, Automatic Transmission Filter, band, bushings or any other rebuild components.
