A cracked or hardened piston seal bleeds off apply pressure and the clutch it feeds slips under load.

FIOD Piston e 4r70 4R75 1-2 (bonded rubber) accumulator. The seals are bonded to the piston rather than riding as a separate lip seal in a high cycle position.

Cracks appear at the bond line and do not show on the bench. The pistons are bonded rather than lip sealed. Shipping weight is 1 lb.
